Blackberry picking in Washington, DC

In the farm's own words: "Sour Cherries are finished for the season. A late frost wiped out almost all of our crop this year." Blackberries and cut flowers are picking; apples are marked TBD. Picking is Thursday to Sunday.

Open daily 9am to 5pm. Peach picking is running at the time of checking. Apples and the corn maze come in September and the Pumpkin Picking Fall Fest after. General admission is ticketed and the farm runs free U-Pick Alerts.

The season runs late May to mid November with, in the farm's own words, "Over 20 Crops and 90+ Varieties to pick". A field ticket or season pass is newly required in 2026 for anyone aged three and up, and crops are charged by the container rather than by the pound.

At the time of checking the farm was picking sunflowers, flowers, herbs, banana peppers, tomatoes, potatoes at weekends and scattered blackberries. Red raspberries are coming with, in the farm's own words, "a short season and smaller harvest than in years past".

A 400-acre working farm at the foot of the Blue Ridge. It never charges admission, parking is always free, and you pay only for what you pick. Its own website could not be read: the record points at a Facebook page that returned an error.

At the time of checking: "Blackberries, Assorted Vegetables and Flowers are currently available for picking!" The farm also runs a CSA from May to October and a cider room.

The farm reports major loss from spring frost damage and is offering season pass holders compensation options. Blackberry, apple and flower picking are all running, but apple picking is limited and reservations are recommended.

Blackberries and cut-your-own zinnias are picking, and the sunflower path opened around 12 August. Blueberries are finished for the season. The farm prices by the container: blackberries $8 a pint, $14 a quart, $25 for a two-quart basket.

The farm runs 40 acres of pick-your-own fruit and vegetables spanning the seasons, an hour from Washington. It publishes a separate availability page rather than fixed dates.

The farm states it plainly: "No Cherries, Peaches, or Apples this Year due to Freeze (2026)." Blackberries are the last variety picking, at $4.99 a pound, alongside cut-your-own zinnias.

The farm market sells peaches, nectarines, plums, blackberries, blueberries, apples, black raspberries, pears and pumpkins, and asks you to call in advance because everything is weather and season dependent. The directory records pick-your-own apples.

The farm publishes a separate pick-your-own and events schedule. Christmas trees run from the Friday after Thanksgiving, 9am to 5pm daily, with hayrides at weekends.
