Eddy's Fruit Farm

Eddy's Fruit Farm on Caves Road does something almost no farm bothers to do: it tells you which of its crops you may not pick, crop by crop, on the same page as the ones you may.

What You Can Pick

• Apples - late summer into autumn. Jersey Mac, Akane, Ginger Gold, Earligold, Paula Red, Sunrise, Mollies and more
• Grapes - autumn. Concord and seedless
• Sour cherries - by reservation

What You Cannot Pick

The farm's own list: "Strawberries (not available for pick your own), Cherries (not available for pick your own)", "Blueberries (not available for pick your own)" and "Blackberries (not available for pick your own)". Peaches, pears and plums are grown and sold rather than picked.

What Else is Available

Farm fresh produce, honey, preserves, apple butter and maple syrup, plus vegetables from a hydroponic greenhouse the family spent eight years building, growing tomatoes and lettuce year round on recycled water. The farm works with adults with disabilities to run it.

Pro tip: the grapes are the reason to come in late September. Concord picked off the vine is a different thing entirely from Concord in a jar, and Ohio's grape country runs right through here, but almost every vineyard in it makes wine rather than letting you into the rows.
