The Little Farmer sits ten miles north of Fond du Lac above Lake Winnebago and runs the most organised picking operation in the region: everything starts at the U-Pick Shed by the car park.
In the farm's own words: "Conveniently located next to the parking lot this is your one stop shop to purchase both pumpkins and bags to go pick your own apples." At weekends there are free tractor-driven hayrides out to both the pumpkin field and the apple orchard, and the shed will point you to a scenic walk instead if you would rather.
The pumpkin pricing is unusually neat: "All our pumpkins are sold by their size using 'size rings'. There are six different sizes and we offer stations throughout the farm for you to size your pumpkin. Every register has a set of size rings so we can do the dirty work for you."
The U-Pick Shed opens at weekends only, because it works as a school tour hub during the week. On weekdays you buy your pumpkin at the register in the Applehouse.
Open early August through 31 October, 8am to 6pm weekdays and 10am to 6pm at weekends, then shorter hours through November. 1,055 Google reviews, the second most in the region.
Pro tip: the size ring system means a small pumpkin is genuinely cheap and there is no haggling at the till. Bring a wagon-sized ambition rather than a car-boot one.
We list what we have confirmed. If something you need is not shown, it is worth calling the farm to check.
Our own assessment, scored the same way for every farm on the site, from what each farm publishes about itself. Not a visit, and not a public review score.
