Basse's Farms at Colgate is the biggest picking operation in the region, with 1,384 Google reviews, and it runs two quite different seasons.
Strawberry picking runs on its own daily hours and its own hotline. The autumn is different: Pumpkin Fest general admission is $14.99 to $23.99 plus tax depending on the day, and that does not include a pumpkin from the field. Apples come as a quarter peck bag per person, with additional bags at $8.95.
The farm is cashless in all seasons. Military and senior discounts are $2 off general admission with ID. Pumpkin Fest is closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays.
As of late August the strawberries read "U-Pick Strawberries: Closed For The Season" and the apples "U-Pick Apples: Coming Soon!". The farm's own advice is to check its What's Happening Now page before setting out, and it warns that "the store will close if u-pick strawberries close due to inclement weather."
Pro tip: June here is a farm, October is a festival. If you want quiet picking rather than a paid gate, come for the strawberries.
We list what we have confirmed. If something you need is not shown, it is worth calling the farm to check.
Our own assessment, scored the same way for every farm on the site, from what each farm publishes about itself. Not a visit, and not a public review score.
