Appleland Farm Market

Appleland at Fredonia is the most northerly of the Ozaukee orchards and the one that explains its own u-pick most carefully.

What You Can Pick

• Apples - the 2026 season runs 20 August through October, or until the first hard freeze
• Pumpkins - autumn
• Strawberries - June, in the farm's own words "From strawberries in June to apples and pumpkins in the fall, each season brings something new to discover."

How It Works

Apples are sold by the bag, bought inside the market before you go out: half a peck at five to six pounds, a peck at ten to twelve, or half a bushel at twenty to twenty-two. The farm is clear that "U-Pick varieties vary as the season progresses" and asks you to check its Currently Picking note before setting off. Pre-picked varieties are not necessarily available to pick.

Two Honeycrisp u-pick weekends are set for 2026: 5 and 6 September during the Sunflower Festival, and 26 and 27 September at the Fall Festival.

Good to Know

No pets in the orchard or the market, and the farm gives its reason: it is a working orchard and this is a food safety rule. Service dogs are welcome.

Look for the red building with the green roof and the silo with a big red apple on it, three miles up Highway 57 from the I-43 exit.

Pro tip: the farm's own storage advice is worth following. Pick slightly under-ripe if you mean to keep them, because fully ripe apples go over in store.
