Parrish Pioneer Ranch at Oak Glen has been growing apples since 1867, which makes it the oldest business in this region by some margin. Its own masthead reads "Crisp Apples Since 1867".
Apples. The ranch publishes an Apple Season FAQ split into late summer, autumn and winter, headed "Pirates, Apple Picking, and Beyond".
Apples, cider, jams and jellies, a snack bar, a picnic park, an art gallery and gift shops.
Events through the year include a car show in June, a Big Game weekend and Light Up the Glen in November.
Open Friday through Sunday, 10am to 5pm, and open year round rather than seasonally, which almost no Oak Glen ranch manages.
Pro tip: a working apple ranch that has been in the same business since the year Nebraska became a state is worth an hour on its own. The picnic park is free and the view down the Glen is the reason to bring lunch.
We list what we have confirmed. If something you need is not shown, it is worth calling the farm to check.
Our own assessment, scored the same way for every farm on the site, from what each farm publishes about itself. Not a visit, and not a public review score.
From the ranch, Friday to Sunday, open year round.
