Pumpkin picking in Detroit, MI

In the farm's own words, the picking year runs "from early July until past Christmas". Strawberries start around 4 July for two to three weeks, blueberries from the second week of July at the offsite patch, apples from about 10 September to 31 October, and pumpkins from the third weekend in September. Honeycrisp picking is crop dependent and lasts one or two weekends only.

In the farm's own words: blueberries "opened on June 29th. We are headed toward the end of the blueberry season. We will likely stop picking around August 14." Raspberries are cropping well and change daily. Summer apples are Paula Red, Ginger Gold, Gala and Sweet Maia. Peaches are a small crop this year and are market only, supplemented from the west side of the state.

From the farm's own picking board: sunflowers are open 10am to 5pm and fall raspberries started on 22 August. Apples begin at the start of September with Gala and McIntosh, and pumpkins in October. Strawberries, sweet and tart cherries and saskatoons are all listed as "2026 season is over".

In the farm's own words: "We are open for the season. Hours are: 9am-7pm Mon-Sat and 11am-5pm Sun." Blueberries run through summer, apples and pumpkins into autumn, with weekend events through September and October.

Peach season is on, and the farm offers both u-pick and pre-picked. Apples, grapes and pumpkins follow in autumn; strawberries are a June crop and are finished. The farm asks pickers to ring ahead: "Stopping in for U-Pick? Give us a call!"

In the farm's own words: "Closed until the 2026 Season beginning in September." Apple and pumpkin picking runs in autumn, with three u-pick pumpkin patches. The Legacy Bar stays open out of season and sells seasonal produce.

In the farm's own words: "Saturday & Sunday ONLY. HOURS 11am-6pm (U-pick til 5pm). Sept.6th - Nov. 2nd." Picking opens with McIntosh and Gala on 6 September and closes with Golden Russet from 25 October, each variety lasting two to three weeks.

A hard year, told plainly by the farm. Apples: "Our apple crop looks great this year and we will open up for UPIC McIntosh in late August... All apples seem to be ripening ahead of normal." Pumpkins open in late September. Tart cherries: "No pick your own this year :( We lost 99% of our crop with all the spring frosts & freezes." Sweet cherries have no u-pick because "the trees are just too big", and the blueberry field is closed to picking after serious bird damage.

As of 21 August 2026 the farm was picking and selling sweet corn from two drive-thru points, noon to 6pm or until it ran out. The apple page still carries last season's closing notice; u-pick apples return in autumn and the farm asks you to check the hotline daily.

In the farm's own words: "Pick Your Own season usually begins around September 12th, and continues through the 3rd week in October... depending on crop and weather conditions. Please call to see what we are picking and when." The farm market is open all year.

The cider mill opens 29 August and runs to 8 November, 9am to 7pm daily; the Red Shed Market runs 29 August to 25 November, 10am to 6pm daily. Pumpkin picking is an October crop, and the tour add-on to pick a pie pumpkin starts on 1 October.

In the farm's own words: "We are OPEN for the Season!!! Hours: Monday-Saturday 10am-6pm Sunday 12pm-6pm." The u-pick pumpkin patch opens with the rest of the autumn programme.

Posted by the farm on 20 August 2026: "We will have red & black raspberies, blueberries, blackberries, gooseberries, apples, and pumpkins available for picking for the 2026 season." [sic] Cash and cheques only, no cards.

In the farm's own words: "Thanks for visiting we currently closed for the season" [sic], with a countdown to reopening on Tuesday 8 September 2026. Picking is inside the ticketed Country Fair and the fruit costs extra on top of admission.

Picking is usually Thursday to Sunday, 9am to noon, and the farm asks people to check Google Maps and its newsletter for what is ready. With around a hundred varieties on fifteen acres the list turns over weekly.
