About This Farm
McCallum's Orchard & Cider Mill at Jeddo, out in the Thumb near Port Huron, has the longest picking list and the lowest published price in this region: strawberries at $1.50 a pound.
What You Can Pick
- Strawberries - June, at $1.50 a pound after a two quart minimum
- Peaches - August and September. In the farm's own words, "U-Pick and We-Pick peaches"
- Apples - autumn. Northern Spy, Rome, Ida Red, Empire, Gala, Cameo, Jonagold, Cortland, Jonathan, Golden Delicious, Gravenstein and Granny Smith
- Grapes - autumn
- Pumpkins - autumn
What Else is Available
A cider mill, a peach pie in peach season and other peach-inspired things besides, a bounce pillow, a corn maze, tractor shows and game nights. The farm minimises its chemical and pesticide use.
Good to Know
Closed Monday to Wednesday. Open Thursday to Saturday 10am to 4pm and Sunday noon to 4pm, which is a short week and a short day, so plan around it.

Pro tip: Gravenstein is the surprise on that apple list. It is an old, aromatic, short-lived summer apple that falls apart into the best applesauce there is and that commercial growers gave up on decades ago because it will not travel. Ask when it is on.
