Aamodt's Apple Farm at Stillwater calls itself the "Home of Honeycrisp Apples", and its variety list is a tour of the University of Minnesota breeding programme.

At the time of checking, State Fair was half price in the apple barn at $0.99 a pound.

Good to Know
Picking is 10am to 5pm daily. The barn stays open to 6pm, seven days a week.
Pro tip: First Kiss and SweeTango are both Minnesota-bred and both worth going out of your way for. First Kiss ripens in mid-August, which is astonishingly early for a crisp apple, and it is gone in a fortnight.
