Blue Jay Orchards at Bethel is 122 acres with over 8,000 producing trees and more than 20 apple varieties, and has been growing fruit in northern Fairfield County for over seventy years.
The farm reopens on Labor Day weekend, 5 September.
In its own words: "For over seventy years, our orchard has raised delicious, top-grade, fruit for our community. We are proud to be one of New England's seasonal traditions for families to come to visit our Farm and shop at our Market, to buy apples, cider, pumpkins, pies, and donuts, and perhaps enjoy 'pick your own'."
The farm asks visitors to "read the orchard rules on Pick Your Own and On the Farm pages" before coming, and to call for orchard and farm market hours.
Pro tip: not to be confused with Blue Jay Orchard at Hiram, Ohio, which is a different farm nine hundred kilometres away and also on this site. This one is the Connecticut one, on Plumtrees Road.

Our own assessment, scored the same way for every farm on the site, from what each farm publishes about itself. Not a visit, and not a public review score.
