About This Farm
Catoctin Mountain Orchard at Thurmont has been family-owned since the 1940s and sits on the slopes below Catoctin Mountain, which is as handsome a setting as picking gets in this region.

- Flowers - a half-acre garden of zinnias, lisianthus, celosia and snapdragons
What It Costs
$3 per person to enter the u-pick apple field. Picking bags must be bought at check-in.

Good to Know
Open daily, 9am to 5pm.
There is a playground with picnic tables, and picnicking is restricted to that area.
The orchard asks: "Before leaving home, please check back on this page or call 301-271-2737."
Pro tip: cash only at a farm with a $3 gate and bags sold at check-in means you need notes in your pocket before you reach Thurmont. There is not much between here and the mountain.
