About seven hundred varieties of apple on one organic smallholding east of Everett, which makes this the deepest fruit collection anywhere near Seattle. Picking runs July to the start of November and opens with Red Gravensteins in late August; September is when the choice is widest. Apples are $4 a pound falling to $2 at a hundred pounds, and the farm takes payment in almost any form including barter.
